Step One: Acknowledge the trauma

Shine a light on those deep-rooted wounds and say, “Hey, we see you.” It’s only by recognising the impact of generational trauma that we can begin our journey towards healing.

Step Two: Understand its roots

It’s time to dig deep and explore our history, our upbringing, and the patterns that have shaped us.

By uncovering the roots of our struggles, we can better grasp how they could’ve been handed down from one generation to the next.

Step Three: Create your safe-space

Whether it’s through therapy, support groups, or even heartfelt conversations with loved ones, having a safe and non-judgmental environment is crucial.

Step Four: Develop healthy coping strategies

We don’t want to keep passing on those old, unhealthy patterns, right? Dealing with life’s challenges can be done through mindfulness, art, exercise, or whatever works best for each of us.

The key is to choose strategies that take care of our well-being.

Step Five: Team effort!

Healing generational trauma is not something we have to face alone. By supporting each other, listening, and understanding, we can work towards breaking the cycle and creating a better future.
